Basel Airport Parking

It is not possible to pre-book Basel Airport Parking but passengers with parking requirements can contact the airport at +33 (0) 89 90 25 24 or +41 (0) 61 325 25 23. The lines are open 7 days a week from 6.00 am to midnight.

The airport is divided into a French and Swiss parking zone and prices as well as distance to the terminal building will depend on which sector motorists park their vehicle in.

It is possible to simply drop off passengers without having to incur a charge. The designated drop off lanes are right in front of the terminal in the DEPART/ABFLUG section. It is not permitted to wait in this section and drivers must remain with their vehicles at all times. The same is true for picking up a person at the French sector. Here motorists should head for the ARRIVEE/ANKUNFT signs. The maximum free duration is 10 minutes.

For short-term parking for a few moments there is the Minute Stop, which is in close proximity of the DEPART/ABFLUG area as well as the ARRIVEE/ANKUNFT area for motorists who are collecting passengers. Motorists will be charged for every 15 minutes of parking and the duration is limited to 2 hours. Payments can be made via the parking meters at the parking lot.

For motorists who wish to accompany passengers into the departure hall Basel Airport provides short term parking facilities at F1, F2 and F3 in the French sector. Motorists requiring 4 days or more of parking should head for car parks F5 and F6 instead.

Basel parking on the French side offers parking facilities for “Park and Fly” passengers in several short term parking lots (from 0 to 5 days) such as F1, a covered car park underneath the terminal, where 410 spaces are available on 2 floors, including 7 spaces for disabled motorists. Car park F2 has 350 spaces and can be found right next to F1 car park.

F3 car park offers open air parking in 640 spaces with 10 spaces being designated for disabled drivers. This car park can also be used for parking from 4 days onwards. The car park is located approximately 200 meters from the terminal building.

Car park 6 is temporarily closed because of construction work, but long term parking can found in car park F5, which has 1450 open air spaces available. The car park is located ca. 400 meters or 5 minute walk from the terminal building.

Long and short term parking at the Swiss sector is handled in a similar way as above. Picking up or dropping off passengers without wishing to park at any time means simply following the signs to ABFLUG (departure) or ANKUNFT (arrival), where designated lanes allow motorists to stop briefly to drop off or pick up passengers and their luggage.

Basel Airport parking in the Minute Stop is also charged every 15 minutes and is located in close proximity of the ANKUNFT area. The maximum duration for parking in this zone is two hours.

Short term parking takes place in car parks S1 and S2, but slightly longer term parking for a stay of 4 days or longer is available at S3 and S4 car parks. S1 car park has 410 open air spaces on 2 floors and the car park is located beneath the terminal building. There are 6 designated parking spaces for disabled motorists at this facility.

Car park S2 offers 700 open air spaces and 7 spaces for disabled drivers. This parking facility is located right next to S1.

Long term parking at Basel’s Swiss sector is handled by S2, S3 and S12, while S4 is under construction (due to reopen in April 2012). S3 offers 780 open air spaces within a 10 minute walk from the terminal, while S12 has 240 spaces and is only 300 meters’ distance from the terminal building, but only available to motorists when other car parks are fully occupied.

In the F1 covered car park parking costs EUR 3.70 for the first hour, EUR 6.60 for 1 to 3 hours and 12 to 24 hours costs EUR 16.20. F2 and F3 are considerably cheaper in their tariffs with parking from the 5th day onwards costing just EUR 6.00 per day.

Parking for just fifteen minutes in the Arrivals or Departures section outside either the French or Swiss sector will cost EUR 1.00 per 15 minutes.
